Before your hand released the knob…you infused it with the love & happiness you felt as you saw your loved one, friend, or neighbor standing in the threshold of your home. Now, think about how many times you have turned a faucet on & off over the course of time that you have lived in your home. How many times you have taken a shower, done laundry or washed the dishes is more than a daily ritual. It becomes an energetic memory that stays alive within the essence of your home. We energetically bond with the physical space we call “home.”
As a certified Feng Shui consultant, I am very aware of how energy lives within a home and how it can influence those who live and sleep within its’ walls. I also understood the elemental forces and the role they play in our lives through the principles of the Chinese BaGua. Then, I was introduced to Lisa Michaels and The Natural Rhythms Institute where I learned how to work, play with and integrate the elements…Earth, Air, Fire, Water and Spirit. From the Natural Rhythms perspective, I now embrace and move more freely in my elemental dance with life.
Having experienced the richness and depth of each element through my understanding of Feng Shui and Natural Rhythms I was able to guide my aunt “Hubby” through a very difficult time when my uncle passed away from cancer. Within days of his transition, the home they had shared for 40 plus years began to emulate her grief. She woke up to a water filled kitchen floor, faucets were leaking, the air conditioner was acting up and more. Every day it was something new…all water related. I explained that the water element is about our emotional realm and that crying is a natural way to release sorrow through the energy of water.
I remember how her flow of tears stopped for a brief moment when my Aunt realized that her physical space (home) was experiencing the same heart-break. She said to me, “That makes sense! I just couldn’t understand why all of this was happening …NOW, of all times! I understand because, he loved our home!” This new awareness helped her through a very difficult time and brought home to each of us how our false ego can trick us into thinking we are separate from what we experience.
Thank you, water…for showing us how our emotions lead the way to healing and discovery. The power of water flows within us and out into physical world. “Home is where the Heart is” and our homes do speak to us through the elemental world. WHAT DOES YOUR HOME HAVE TO SAY?
